New Year, New Camera, Same Brodie

We started out the new year the same way we always do-a visit to Grandma’s house! One of Brodies ALL TIME FAVORITE places to visit! Plus we got to play with my new camera and lens (which was more fun for Dan and I than Brodie, but he was a great model!)

Brodie was SO tired on New Years Eve. He was so not about the who “staying up past midnight to celebrate” thing! His whole demenour that night was, why are we not in bed. Bedtime is right around 8-9pm. (He legit crashes almost every single day at that time while we watch tv.) But with all the celebrating, we of course didn’t go to bed at 9pm.

The humans (a whole 3 of us total-we stuck with our inner circle to be safe with COVID) were having a great time! We let Brodie do his thing, trying not to wake him up or drive him crazy. We enjoyed some nice wine, a BEAUTIFUL steak (which we did share with Brodie-much to his delight), and played around with my new camera lens! I bought myself a nifty fifty (50mm) lens to celebrate the new year!

Don’t worry, we didn’t play with it too much during our celebration of the new year (not so smart when good wine is involved). Instead we really played around with it on New Years Day during our traditional lunch/dinner with Dan’s mom (aka GRANDMA!)!

Grandma has the BEST yard for running around, so of course, even with the rain and mud, there was Brodie, running in and out and in and out ALL day! He was having a blast! He even got to play with his friend/uncle Biscuit! Biscuit decided to be camera shy and refused to let me take any pictures of him…at all. The. Whole. Day.

Whenever we are at Grandma’s house, Brodie is always right by her side. He loves following her, especially if she’s cooking. He loves to clean up after her and getting all the scrapes (that he isn’t allergic to or are bad for dogs)! As you can see, he was hoping for something REAL good from her! Don’t worry, he didn’t get too much human food! We tricked a few times with dog treats!

And then it was time to chill! We had such a relaxing rest of our New Years Day! Mostly we played around with the new camera lens, did some training with Brodie, and mostly just chilled out in the living room!

Brodie was way too adorable to do much of anything other than watch him and play with him! He was definitely modeling for the camera when we were playing around.

I mean come on, how does he always look so darn cute?! Okay, okay, I know I’m biased, but still! He’s a true dog model in my eyes!

Overall, it was a pretty relaxing and chill new years! Brodie was the best part-as always! Well him and the good wine and food we had over New Years Eve and Day!

This New Years, I’m grateful to have Brodie in my life and I’m excited to see what adventures we take together in 2022!

  1. Hi! Are you still offering free puppy photos for dogs in White Meadow Lake? Time got away from me and I never responded to your last email. My dog is 16, can’t see or hear very well but I would love some pictures of him. It would make me and my family so happy. If not, I completely understand. Please get back to me at your earliest convenience. Thank you again! Tiffany French
